A new season and new beginnings I am super excited about, details to come - in the meanwhile, I wasn't blessed with a green thumb but lucky for me succulents really don't require one. Many of you know, I often paint what I'd love to decorate with or try to incorporate something a bit quirky into my paintings - plants are not uncommon (and seem to be everywhere!) but how you present them is. From the container or vessel, to the way you display them, such as vertical on a wall, in an unusual container, or hanging upside down from the ceiling (which is my favorite at the moment). So try it, hang a couple from the corner ceiling (give your walls a break!) and pair with a chair and cute side table - you just might have created the most sought after spot in the house. Have a great weekend! Tara
Long and lean - like me, haha, ok maybe not, I love changing things up a bit with canvas sizes. It's a bit of a challenge painting a long, vertical piece. This painting measures 18x36 and is already on the wall in one of my girl's bedroom, with unpainted edges - always in a hurry. This was painted for the Art Licensing Show website which I am a member of. The text is in Photoshop and isn't on the actual painting. It started out like the majority of my pieces, no plan just lots of mark making and fun with the process and sort of evolved from there. Have a great week. Tara
New wall art I just finished - this piece is 16x20 but I can size down, thanks for all the web orders! Have a great week. Tara
Hello ~ I've been busy cranking out some new collections lately. With summer right around the corner I thought I'd go with the season. I usually start with painting a new wall art piece, since that is my first painting go-to, then I build a collection around it - this is for the Art Licensing Show at the end of February. Thanks for looking, have a great weekend! T
Hi, I've been busy working on a few commission pieces lately. I love to create a piece to answer a specific interest or color combo needed. I've been there when you just can't find a fun art piece to fill a niche area or spot in your home - kind of like Goldilocks. Too colorful, too white, too bold, too dark - so reach out if you have an idea and I will paint something just for you!
I'm kicking off the new year with a new series of paintings - great alone or hung together on the wall. Below is the first -
I hope everyone is enjoying this time of year - we are right in the middle of those 'awkward days' between Christmas and New Year's. Happily taking a painting break this week but already looking forward to creating some new art very soon. I decided to sell originals this year - I will still make prints available but thought it'd be fun to branch out in my Etsy shop, so look for those soon. And of course, you can still contact me through my website to make purchases also. Enjoy the rest of this holiday season and see you next year! Tara
On to painting #3 of this holiday series, a vintage bulb and light abstract, the colors coordinate with the previous posted paintings. Now, I will be working toward Valentine's day and Easter next in painting mode, I'm hoping anyway. I don't usually plan out my paintings so time will tell - have a great day! Thanks to all of you who added these three to your holiday decor this year - I hope you love them! Available in my Etsy shop: Canvaspics or use the tab at the top.
