Tara Daavettila was born a "Yooper" which is a people native to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, USA. At a young age, Tara began making art and fondly remembers many a Crayola "portfolio" Art Kit under the Christmas tree year after year. She spent hours doodling, painting and making many a masterpiece while jamming to her Raggedy Ann & Andy Radio.
Fast forward a few years, after graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and working a practical yet rewarding job, Tara decided to leave the corporate world and stay home to raise her own Crayola art loving kiddo's. It was then when her passion for creating was reawakened and many a nap time was spent playing with paint and canvas in her makeshift "studio". Although Tara doesn't have a piece of paper in way of formal art training, she has educated herself through online classes with Lilla Rogers' Studio, Kelly Rae Roberts, Mati Rose McDonough and other creatives she admires and is grateful for their support and "mentoring". Tara's work is inspired by her children, daydreams and the awe-inspiring nature outside her window.
